End of First Quarter Fall Party

End of First Quarter Fall Party

Thank you parents for supporting our class fall party.  The students were very surprised and we had a wonderful afternoon.  We have made it through the first quarter and now it's time to focus on the adventures for second quarter.  So much fun in fourth grade!

Dioramas

 Diorama Book Reports

So much fun in fourth grade!  Students read fiction books and created a diorama along with a written report.  Excellent work and great creations.  We are looking forward to Second Quarter and all the exciting things we will be learning.  Good work Fourth Graders!

Support Operation Christmas Child

This week we were challenged by Mrs. Desjarlais, to help with Operations Christmas Child, and provide shoe boxes filled with things for children.  It is a tradition for our school to help with Samaritan's Purse in providing shoes boxes filled with things to help children worldwide.  Your children were given a brochure suggesting items and detailing the ministry of Operation Christmas Child.  The packed shoes boxes should be returned by November 20th.  Thank you in advance for supporting and giving to Samaritan's Purse.

Bugs in Dickensville!

 Imaginary Insect Day

Fourth Graders finished our Science unit on insects and spiders.  We enjoyed talking about their creations and had a fun afternoon showing off the imaginary critters.  It's fun being in fourth grade!

"And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping things, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.  And God mad the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind:  and God saw that it was good."  (Genesis 1:24-25, NKJV).

Reading Task Assignments in Dickensville

 Reading Task in Dickensville

Fourth Graders used sketching to illustrate a scene from a literature selection.  After reading,  The Cricket in Times Square,  by George Selden, students drew pictures to illustrate a scene from the story. Learning to "love" reading begins with journaling story events.  Journaling does not always mean writing.  The students did an awesome job on their reading task expression.
